Protocol Stack: Technical Consultant 3GPP / LTE

Essential skills required from the Protocol Stack: Technical Consultant 3GPP / LTE;

- First or postgraduate Degree in the area of Electronic/Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications, possibly combined with Maths, Physics or Computer Science; alternatively equivalent qualifications and training.
- Knowledge of 3GPP protocols GSM/GPRS, UMTS or LTE (> 3yrs). Alternatively significant test development and management experience in other telecommunications protocols may be considered (e.g. IP, ATM. SDH etc).
- Excellent L3 knowledge with sound understanding of L1,L2 principles.
- Problem analysis in the protocol domain
- Strong process driven background
- Proven ability to map wireless protocol level requirements to functional test coverage.
- Previous technical leadership/design authority experience.
- Knowledge of TTCN2/3

Desirable skills from the Protocol Stack: Technical Consultant 3GPP / LTE;
- Experience of software product testing (> 3yrs)
- Knowledge of wireless protocol system simulators
- Software lifecycle and development process knowledge. Ideally with development experience.
- Experience of software test strategy creation experience.
- Experience of software test regime creation experience.
- Test case debug experience.
- Familiar with parameterisation of SIM/USIM

Required Experience from the Protocol Architect / Protocol Stack LTE:

- At least 3 years of experience as a system architect, protocol architect or in a similar position.
- At least 5 years of experience working with layers 2 and 3 of E-UTRAN (LTE) and UTRAN (UMTS/WCDMA).
This role is role is focused on LTE.
- Excellent knowledge of RRC and NAS signaling procedures.
- Sound understanding of LTE and UMTS layer 1 operation and principles.
- Good knowledge of UML and software/system design principles.
- Proven ability to create and maintain complex feature-level and system-level architecture.
- C/C++ background.

Desired Experience from the Protocol Architect - Technical / Protocol Stack LTE:

- Knowledge of GSM/GPRS signaling.
- Knowledge of CDMA2000: EVDO, 1xRTT and HRPD signaling.
- Knowledge of UMTS LCR TDD (TD-SCDMA).
- Knowledge of TTCN2/3.
- Knowledge of IMS.
- IP background.
- Experience in working with standards bodies (mainly 3GPP).
